UK entry requirements

First or second class honours degree (or international equivalent) in any subject.

We also welcome applicants with industry experience in the performing arts including theatre, music, performance and choreography.

English language requirements

If you are an applicant whose first language is not English, the following qualifications are required:

  • IELTS: Overall score 6.5 and a minimum of 5.5 in each subset
  • TOEFL test with a score of at least 90, with a minimum of 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 17 in Writing and 20 in Speaking.

Fees for academic year 2026/27 for Master of Arts (MA) full-time per year:

Application process

You will need to submit:

  • A completed application form (either electronically or by post).
  • A certified copy of your undergraduate academic results and degree certificate. If you have not yet finished your course, please provide a provisional transcript of marks received to date. You will be required to send us your degree transcript as soon as it is available.
  • Proof of English proficiency (if you are not a native English speaker, or someone who has not been taught in English for your first-degree subject).
  • A personal statement of around 500 words on your academic and relevant professional experience to date and how it informs your intention to undertake this course. In addition, you may wish to outline your vision for how the degree will feed into your professional career. You will need to
    make sure your statement is specific to our course and institution, and not generic. You may be asked to provide further details if your statement is too generic.
  • Academic references are not required when you submit your application. However, the admissions tutor may request them at a later date to help make a decision on your application.
